Bathroom Flooring

The type of flooring you choose can make a dramatic difference in the look and feel of your bathroom. You can choose to add low-voltage heating underneath the floor. The heated floor option can be “always on” or can be set on a timer with an on and off switch so that you can turn it on when necessary. This option is very popular with arthritis sufferers, older people and people who just want to pamper themselves because they live in colder climates.

Otherwise, conventional bathroom floor tile comes in a wide variety of materials from marble, granite and ceramic to limestone, vinyl and travertine. One of the biggest factors that goes into determining the material you use is the finish that you are looking for. For example, if you want a European look, choose a natural stone with an unfilled finish.

The last factor that will play into your bathroom tile choice is the pattern that you are going for. Square tiles in a traditional square pattern is a classic look, but you might want to spice up your flooring with a more trendy or cheerful pattern.
