The bathroom is a damp place where molds accumulate easily. Molds on the tiles are easy to remove – you just scrub them off. It is a different story, however, when molds cultivate on the shower curtain. Granting that the molds are wiped away, the stains left by the molds remain.

The most practical solution is to prevent their cultivation by keeping the curtains dry. After taking a shower, always spread out the curtain before leaving the bathroom. This way, the curtain dries faster preventing the mold growth since they are dependent on moisture.

Unnecessary cleaning is avoided and the useful life of the shower curtain is prolonged at no cost.

In using appliances for the first time, read the manual and follow the instructions stated therein. If you think that you already know how to use such appliance, scanning the manual is still advisable since the appliance that you bought might have its own different specification. This is not just to avoid any accident but also to preserve that warranty of the product which you could avail in case the product proved to be actually defective and not because of your negligence. In any case, do not disregard the special instructions for the specific parts of the product.

Make it a habit also of unplugging your appliances especially the heat producing pieces. And if you will be away from home for a long time, unplug all appliances before leaving the house.

Electrical cord extensions are used in the enabling your house’s outlets to accommodate several appliances at the same time. The use of extension is discouraged because it might overload your power supply, especially its full usage. If your power supply is overloaded, it might catch fire.

So in designing your home, anticipate the appliances that shall be placed in a particular area of your home such that the sufficient number of outlets shall be placed accordingly. If you haven’t anticipated the number of appliances that shall be placed and they had exceeded the number of outlets available, have an additional number of outlets be placed in your home to prevent overloading.

One point worth remembering about plants is that it is through their roots they get their food, well at least most of them. You do not need to spray water on their leaves. It is not only a waste of effort but also water is wasted in the process. Creating your own irrigation system in your backyard is also a good idea instead of relying on sprinklers. Unless of course it is your lawn that you are watering, you may use a sprinkler since it would be difficult to establish an irrigation system for the grass. Water your plants either in the early morning or late afternoon to maximize the water because if you do it on midday, the water evaporates faster.

Always check and test the appliance in the store. Do not buy appliances in a hurry, take your time. Defective appliances can be hazardous. So are poorly designed ones. If you have time, familiarize yourself with the item you are planning to buy. And once in the store, ask as many questions as you want to the sales assistant of the store. It would never hurt to get as much information that you can handle.

Once you have made your selection, inspect the label of the product. Make sure that the product you are buying is approved by the appropriate government agency tasked to test the design and quality of such product. Bear in mind that safety always comes first.

When your refrigerator has run out of its deodorizer, you may replace it with charcoal. Charcoal is a porous material. It absorbs water and gases. That is why it can be used to eliminate bad odors in your refrigerator.

You may also use charcoal to eliminate unlikable odors in your bathroom. And since it can also absorb water, you may use it to remove unnecessary moisture in your bathroom which could prevent the cultivation of molds.

Charcoals are cheaper than commercial deodorizers if you are running on a tight budget and they could get the job done. They are just as effective and viable.

In selecting the ornamental plants for your garden, study the weather in your area. Take the time to know which plants could survive the climate otherwise your time, effort, and money will just be wasted.

Then, survey the area of your garden that is available for planting to determine the size of plants that you intend to grow. Don’t forget the soil type of your garden in choosing the plant. The soil in your garden must be able to support the growth of the plants you choose.

Of course the chances are that you are going to get flowering plants. Bear in mind the time when these plants flower, if they do so through out the year or just once. You might want to have a combination of these plants in order to have flowers in your garden all throughout the year.

An untidy environment causes stress. Instead of being able to relax upon coming home, the tension that you feel could be aggravated if the sight before you is a mess. Since you are already stressed, you are more irritable to any disorder. Keeping your home clean is a good way to free yourself from additional stress that you might be getting from work or somewhere else.

Another thing to consider when cleaning the window, glass table top or other similar items is the texture of the cloth that is used to wipe them. The cloth should be able to absorb water or the cleaning solution. Otherwise, the water or cleaning solution will just dry up, leaving streaks even if you wipe it off.

Microfiber cloth or towel is a good absorbent and does not scratch glasses. This cleaning accessory can be found in supermarkets and other stores selling home products. Or if you do not have one, just make sure that the cloth that you are going to use is a good absorbent and lint free. Lint is the fiber of the cloth that may be left after wiping the glass.
